Captiv8 Applications

Captiv8 activated carbon textiles are a range of products that offer high efficiency removal of contaminants from air, gas or liquid streams.

Manufactured by carefully controlled processing of re-constituted cellulose (rayon) fibres, the materials are highly microporous. This porosity, together with the large external surface area of the fibres gives rise to a strong force of attraction for gaseous or liquid molecules. This is termed surface activity and hence activated carbon.Due to their microporosity, Captiv8 textiles efficiently removes even low levels of contaminant to a high degree of purity, and allow the design of small filter sizes.

Captiv8 materials can be adapted both physically and chemically in order to give enhanced performance across a wide range of particular applications.

The materials can further be laminated, for example to plastic films, papers or other fabrics, cut and shaped to provide a finished end-product that the customer can use.

CARBON FILTER TECHNOLOGY LTD is set up to be able to complete the full range of manufacturing processes in support of our customers.

CAPTIV8 can be used for applications like artefact conservation

Examples of applications where Captiv8 may be used include:
